It isn’t easy to begin again, because after treatment, that’s what it feels like; like starting over. But I found something that not only eases my emotional pain and anxiety, but that of others as well. And for that, I am thankful.
I’ve learned during this process, everyday I gain and meet some amazing friends. And although we may leave each other for whatever reason, I wouldn’t change a thing!
“We do what we gotta do to live, Sis,” she would often tell me. She was right and together, we did what we had to do to survive.
We focus so much on surviving cancer that the folks living with cancer are often left behind.
SEVEN medical professionals told me to terminate my pregnancy. WE refused.
When you get cancer you think your life is over but for me my life has begun. I have cancer cancer doesn’t have me!
My dream for over ten years, had finally become a reality and for the second time, cancer was taking it away from me.
So, here I am, two years out since getting the all clear, and now I’m faced with one more hurdle… total hysterectomy.
I’m treating cancer like a kidnapper or robber trying to steal me away from my children.
