I was discouraged from sharing my breast cancer story, but I knew I had to be an advocate for others. My journey has taught me the importance of supporting each other and breaking down barriers for women of color facing breast cancer.
If I learned one thing during this FIGHT with breast cancer, it would be to remind myself that life is too short.
I’ve learned through all of this I’m a lot stronger and resilient than I ever thought I could be.
This experience has opened my eyes and mind to treat my body as a temple and to step outside of my fears.
“Surviving” breast cancer two times. “N’ Shit” the anxiety, daily aches and pains from my medication, running the non-profit, working full time, being a wife, mom…and still trying to live my best life.
Us women are more than just our bodies. And while our bodies may be the only home we have, it’s our hearts and our spirits that propel us forward – not our aesthetic.
