Should I tell my date I had breast cancer? Would this scare them off? When should you talk about serious topics such as illness during the early stages of dating?
And after three years in therapy and three “one-more chances,” the foundation of my marriage crumbled. But even so, God gave me beauty for ashes.
When you have a soulmate, you can look beyond all of that and see the beauty and the creation that God designed just for the two of you.
I told myself I didn’t need a man to make me happy and that was true, but the life partner assigned to me wouldn’t walk away when I felt unworthy, struggled with self esteem and body image or when all the woes of survival came to disturb my peace.
How do you find your new normal like your oncologist so nonchalantly suggested? As if you were looking for your iPhone that had the “Find my iPhone” feature enabled.
I still look in the mirror and get down on myself because of how much my physical appearance was altered. But I have accepted that It’s all a process and we are what we make of it.
No one prepares you for a broken vag when you’re 40 and diagnosed with breast cancer.
