So we asked ourselves, how are thrivers and survivors navigating their relationships?

CoFounder and CEO Marissa sat down with Breast Cancer Baddie Michelle and her husband Harold for a candid conversation to discuss their relationship, Michelle’s advocacy, and how her recent diagnosis of Metastatic Breast Cancer has impacted it.

Marissa Thomas, CoFounder | CEO For the Breast of Us

Marissa Thomas is a patient advocate and breast cancer thriver who was diagnosed in 2015 with stage II breast cancer currently residing in Atlanta, GA. She is the CoFounder and CEO of For the Breast of Us, an inclusive online community for Women of Color impacted by breast cancer. As a Black woman diagnosed at the early age of 35, Marissa CoFounded "For the Breast of Us" to provide women of color a resource tailored to us and personal accounts expressed by us. Marissa's passion is to educate women on navigating the healthcare system, defining survivorship on their own terms after a cancer diagnosis and helping them realize you can continue living your best life, regardless of the circumstance. She is a current board member of Living Beyond Breast Cancer, serves as a patient advocate with the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Institutional Review Board and a Patient Navigator Consultant at Seattle Cancer Care Alliance and Emory Healthcare and holds a BS in Healthcare Administration.
