Meet Jess Isomoto

Jess Miso is a 4th-generation Japanese American from Hawaii/L.A. She was diagnosed with stage III breast cancer in 2020 at the age of 43. She did all the things: Chemo, UMX, radiation, and also removed her ovaries and had DIEP flap reconstruction. She is currently adjusting to menopause and survirorship, while working in higher ed and being a dong mom.

There is still this lack of addressing medical history, passing general history, and education from generation to generation. We are still in the early awareness stage in some Asian communities when it comes to women’s health.
